November 10, 2018!
Two days post surgery and we still went through with our wedding! It was a little hard for me because I couldn't "control" it like I wanted to, couldn't really be in charge, couldn't help set things up or get ready, just had to sit back and watch 😔 which I have a hard time doing too! I feel bad! But HUGE shout out to Kameron's family for all their help in getting it all put together! And it turned out! And thanks to my family for bringing cupcakes and making the 3 hour drive for a 10 minute ceremony! And huge thank you to my lash lady who squeezed me into her schedule to do my lashes for me the day before the wedding and to my nail girl who did the same!
Two of my sisters had come up the day before along with my nephew, his wife and their little girl for my bachelorette "party" or dinner rather 😊 Pre-surgery, Kam's sisters and mom had planned to take me out to dinner the night before the wedding, so we still did that 😊 A great party I was! haha😜 I was just really tired, it didn't take much, so when we got done with that I just went straight to bed! which, by the way, I am SO grateful I can sleep like a normal person again! Haha I had to be propped up into a sitting position in bed or I had sever pain in my ribs and shoulders and couldn't breath 😔 That went on for probably about a week and then I was finally able to slowly start getting lower and lower in bed until I could lay down all the way and even lay on my side!
So the next morning Kam was so awesome and went and got my family donuts, muffins, chocolate milk and orange juice for breakfast since I wasn't able to cook them breakfast, ans we headed to our "venue" aka his parents 😉 I was able to help place the chairs where I wanted them and then I went and got my nails done. I could have very easily not gone to get my nails doe, and it wouldn't have been a bid deal-no one probably would have even noticed, but I wanted to make the day feel as "normal" and as much as my wedding day as possible and thought it might make me feel a little bit better, not physically, but mentally and emotionally 😊 But after I got back from that and helped place the chairs where I wanted the, I was about had! So i think i rested for the remainder of the day until is was time to get ready 😊
We had a little lunch for our families and thanks again to Kam's family for making the soup and rolls! They had made 4 or 5 different kinds of soup and I was so sad I wasn't really able to try and of them! 😔 My stomach was so bloated I wasn't able to really eat because I felt full all the time, AND I was already bloated enough, I didn't want to bloat anymore and not fit in my dress! 😒 haha After lunch I started to get ready, probably about 2 hours prior because I knew it was going to take longer than normal! And it was finally time! Big thanks to Mac for helping me into my dress and lacing that baby up! (You'll know that I mean when you see a picture of it!)
Paige was the cutest flower girl, and we had matching head pieces! 😍 And Bentley was the most handsome little escort! And Kameron was the most handsome groom ever!! 💕 And I forgot my bouquet haha.. whoops! AND I was so excited about the song I had picked to walk to, it has been one of my favorites since 7th grade!, and I was so caught up in the moment that I didn't even hear the song! 😢 ("Iris" by The Goo Goo Dolls, also in my 2nd wedding picture video posted) And we walked really fast down the aisle haha.. wha do ya do? So I was kind of mad that I didn't slow down and take the time to take it all in, and was actually attributing that to making the day imperfect, but in all reality, the day was perfect! (besides the wind 😒, it was a lit-tle chilly)
Being caught up in the moment's always good 😊
But thankfully the ceremony was short and sweet so we didn't all freeze! And afterward we had cupcakes! 😋 And I pretty immediately got out of my dress because my incisions were hurting at this point 😒 which I was also sad about because I loved it so much and only got to wear it once,,, or twice 😊
Kam and I had planned to go to Boise that night and just stay the night and party the next day since we had our real honeymoon booked for January, so I took some Norco and we hit the road! 😊 It actually wasn't too bad. I hadn't been taking Norco because I don't like it, but driving was awful! I could feel every single, tiny little bump in the road, so I took some for the drive to Boise. Since it was Veterans Day weekend we were going to eat at Tucano's because Kam would get his meal free and I have always wanted to eat there and never have, but I was still bloated haha (thanks a lot CO2) sooo we went somewhere else where I could just get something little. The next day we had planned to go to the movie, go to lunch and an arcade and just party, but we went to a movie and I was done 😔 haha and ready to go home. We went to Bohemian Rhapsody, which was really good!, a little long, but good! But I was pretty exhausted afterward so we didn't do anything else. Good thing we hadn't planned our actual honeymoon for right after our wedding! I would have been zero fun! And plus now we are Queen fans! 😜
Monday the 12th we got "engagement" pictures and a few professional wedding shots! 💕 Even though we were already married, that's just how it worked out, and we wanted some "engagement" style pictures 😊 And I absolutely LOVE THEM! So sorry, I couldn't just pick a few! You get them ALL! 😜 I seriously want to print them all and create this like shrine in my house.... but I figured that would be a little weird haha! But really I can't even decide which pictures to print and display.... I want them all!!
I couldn't get the videos to work on here so I'll just pot them along with the published blog post on FB 😒
Moral of the story: Don't get abdominal surgery 2 days before you get married!
And don't mind my fat, bloated wedding pictures 😒 haha
