Bring On Summer!

Like I said in my last post, this summer was filled with a ton of fun!

We went to the Shoshone Ice Caves in the beginning of June,
slept on the trampoline, had camp outs in Grandma's back yard, and watched Bentley play T-ball! We also had a day visit from my sister Care and Daren!
We went to breakfast, the falls, the bridge, and the waterfall you can walk behind! <3

And at the end of June, we went to Seattle!
I have always wanted to go to Seattle! Go see Pike's Market, the Space Needle, the Gum Wall, and let's be honest... Grey's was set there! I was secretly, un-realistically hoping that the Grey Sloan Hospital really existed, or that Mer's house was a tour spot, or the dock she falls off was marked as an attraction.. but no such luck :( However, I did get a picture of the coastline which you see in several episodes!
The first day we went to the little park thing that is by the Space Needle and walked around, took this cool pic by this pretty purple wall :)
And went to a WNBA game! That part wasn't planned but they had a game and we decided to go! I was a little nervous at first just because I don't love watching girls play basketball :/ but it was super fun!! And Go Seattle Storm! They were good! And we later learned that they won the 2018 WNBA Championships! So that was pretty cool to say we had gone to one of their games and watched them play!
Our hotel had a roof top, that was fun :)

Day 2 we explored Pike's Marketplace, Bainbridge Island, and the Space Needle!
This was too cool of a picture not to share, but unfortunately it's on its side :(

Bainbridge Island

We went up in the Space Needle right before dark so we could see day and night. Night was so pretty!
Day 3 we went to the Gum Wall! Kameron thought that was pretty nasty! But I stuck my contribution to it! And put on hand sanitizer right after haha!
We then traveled to China Town, past the Seahawks field, and to Safeco Field to watch the Mariners play!
I was pretty excited! I love baseball and have always wanted to go to a pro game!
We may have gotten there a little early, not on purpose, but turns out the first 500 guests (or something like that) got a free hat! So we waited at the gate, first in line, and got a free Mariner hat!
Next Seattle go around.... Hike Mt Rainer!
Bye Seattle! It's been real!

Making The Yard Beautiful!

So I am a little OCD, and it will drive me absolutely nuts if I write a post from months ago and not date it for the time that it happened. So! This is obviously the first post that pops up on my blog but if you have followed from the beginning, you will know that the actual first post was posted on November 12th called "We Are The Kings", introducing us. But, I am back timing so I'm not bugged every time I get on my blog that I have 10 posts in November that all range from May to November Haha Does that makes sense? No? Ok... Anyways... ;)

This summer was filled with fun! Before summer was in full blown swing we got the landscaping at my house done! I can't believe that I didn't take before pictures! But it was so bad! My whole yard, front and back was just covered in weeds! And I have a big yard-front and back! So the first little while was spent picking every single weed! After we got all the weeds picked we had to grate the whole place... never again! Haha! In the front yard we decided to try our hand at seed first, but I am on such a slope that that didn't work, and all the seed ended up at the bottom of my slope :/ So sod it was...

Huge thanks to Kam's family for helping lay our sod!
The back of the yard was a whole different story! After we picked weeds, before we grated we had to pick all the freaking huge boulders out!! Pretty sure my house was built on a rock pile! And again, I didn't take before pictures :( But believe me-it was BAD! After we got all the boulders out, we grated it, which brought up more and more rocks every time we raked :/ But we finally got it good enough to seed... hydroseed that is! We weren't going to try seeding again haha cuz my back yard is sloped too.
And let's not forget getting the "flower" beds done. We also landscaped the rock beds and planted trees and plants :) So much work! And I would be ok to never landscape ourselves again! Haha

We will have a little more work come spring, but it will be so nice to have the majority of the landscaping done this coming spring and summer!
