Short, Sweet, July

~July~

I hit 14-17 weeks this month
Went to Girls Camp and
Took a trip to Bear Lake!

We went to Lake Alturas for Girls Camp. Such a beautiful lake but super cold!! People think Bear Lake is cold... this lakeπŸ‘‡ was cold!!

We were able to make a trip down to Bear Lake for a lake trip and family reunion!
πŸ’“

My favorite place in the summer!! Always has been and probably always will be!!
πŸ’•
After our day at the lake we took the kids to The Lion King! I was so excited they were showing this in Montpelier!!

The next day we went to my Skinner reunion and had lots of fun there! The kids made knew cousin friends and played all day!
We had a candy cannon at the reunion that was a ton of fun! We didn't get very good pictures because we were joining in the fun too! (That's candy in the air πŸ‘†)

It has been so much fun being pregnant only a few weeks apart with my best friend since basically birth!! If only we lived closer so our babies could grow up together! Here's my 16 week picture 😜 I am 16 weeks here and Mac is about 10! πŸ’—

After the reunion we headed back in to town to play on the gigantic slip and slide with more cousins!

We just played all day!! And really played all month! Through the summer we only have one weekend (that we don't work) that we aren't going somewhere doing something! And that's the weekend right before school starts! Makes for a busy but fun summer!

~Dreams Do Come True!!~

July 2nd we announced to the world that we were pregnant!! Finally!! I read something at one point that said something along the lines of "hardest secret you'll ever have to keep".... 100% accurate!! I seriously wanted to shout it from the mountain tops that I was finally going to have a baby and finally getting to fulfill my life's greatest dream of being a Mom! But I kept it cool 😜

I was racking my brain of how to announce. There were so many ideas out there and none of them were really calling out to me! And I had tons of ideas that I had built up over the years but none of them felt right. One day I had the perfect idea though!

We had been talking about taking the kids to Disneyland this year but hadn't gotten to the point where we were committed, until the day I sent Kameron a text and told him I had the perfect idea to announce but we were going to have to commit to Disneyland for this idea! I kept having the phrase "dreams come true" referring to Disneyland come to mind and kept thinking well we can't do anything dealing with Disneyland because I want to announce NOW! haha and Disneyland, if we go, won't be for a couple months. But then I got the idea to announce that we were going to Disneyland AND HAVING A BABY! That way we could do it now and not have to wait until we actually went to Disneyland!

I had two pairs of ears, so we decided to order us all shirts and ears for Kam and the kids and then take a picture with us in them and me holding the second set of ears I had at my belly! At this point when we decided all this the kids didn't know we were going so on July 2nd when Kameron got home from a class we doorbell ditched some packages for the kids on the front porch. The day before I had written them little notes telling them how excited Mickey and Minnie were to see them and printed out little tickets to Disneyland with their names on them, and wrapped them up with their shirt, ears and some cotton candy! They were excited to get packages and excited about the things inside but we had to help them along a little bit for them to realize what it all meant! haha And then they were really excited!

After getting our pictures done (Thanks Kels!) I worked the rest of the night picking out the best ones and creating the perfect social media post...

And it was out!!

The world finally knew!!

The day we announced I was 13 weeks 3 days! My nausea has lightened up, I'm not nauseous all day every day, just at night around 5-6 it kicks in. It was about 2 days after I hit the 2nd trimester that this changed! Hoping it keeps up! I haven't really had any cravings per-say but the food I eat the most of or is my go to is fruit! Nothing really ever sounds good, but when I do think of something that sounds good, then that's all I want! Sweets are a total turn off! Which is so weird cuz I am normally such a sweet tooth! But really fruit is all I want sweet wise! I also have always been a gum chewer but can't stand it right now! haha I can chew 1/2 a piece, or even 1/4th of a piece for a few minutes- probably 10 tops and then have to spit it out! So most of the time I just go without, which is so weird!

Weird or not, I Love Every Second Of It! πŸ’“

Announcing... Pizza!

Our first appointment was on May 30th! I was 8 weeks! After the ultrasound and measuring the baby they changed our due date from December 29th to January 4th, we weren't quite as far along as we thought we were, but that was ok with me!

I'll tell you what! Seeing the baby for the first time on ultrasound was CRAZY!! And you bet your butt I cried!! It was so surreal!

It was kind of funny though, we had the kids and we weren't planning on telling family for a few more days or weeks (since we weren't as far along as we thought we were) so we didn't want to take the kids with us because they would for sure catch on and then spill the beans! So we asked Rachel if she could watch them while we went to a "meeting", which then Jared starts wondering if he is supposed to be going to the meeting too! haha so we fibbed and said it was just a med/surg meeting haha we figured it was ok to fib in this case 😜

After seeing the doctor and trying to figure out when everyone would have a day off together (It gets tricky when you have 4 nurses and a cop in the family!), we just decided to have everyone over that night and tell them! So we ordered pizza and invited everyone over for dinner!
Another funny story, I should have known better, but not really thinking about it I put the best pizza last in the line up of options, so Rachel and Tammy both went through and just opened the lid enough to see what kind of pizza was in the box and then closed it and then both got a piece of the last pizza πŸ˜‚ who's box didn't have anything written on it! So Kam and I are just sitting back dying, not really knowing what to do and then Jared comes through and sees the writing on the first box and realized he's probably not the one who was supposed to see it (which we didn't really care who saw it first, as long as someone saw it!😜 haha) and at the same time Dan asks Kam and me what we are all smiley about and then figures it out πŸ˜‚

And funny enough the kids were upstairs playing and didn't find out,, so we told them the next day!

We got them each a little present "from the baby" and then had them read clues like when I get bigger will you teach me how to ride my bike... color... jump on the trampoline exc. and then the last clue said I am going to be either your little brother or sister, and if you are a good big brother and sister I have a present for you. We had to explain haha they didn't really get it, but after they realized what we were telling them they were both really excited!
Disregard the sign that says no pictures or media recording allowed! Haha the ultrasound strip we got had awful pictures on it!! So when the tech left, I was like well heck that picture right there is better than the ones on the ultrasound strip she gave us! And took a pic!

The 3D one turned out ok though!
So when we went down to Bear Lake in June, it was really to tell my family that we were pregnant!

We told my Mom the same way as Kam's family. She was confused as to why Studebakers had written a note on the pizza box πŸ˜‚
Later that night we played games with my brother and sisters and told them we had a treat to share with everyone and put a bag of pink and blue taffy on the table πŸ‘‡
Ness and Care weren't there though, so I sent Ness a pic of the bag and then Care was going to be back the next day so we went and saw her before we left town to tell her!

The taffy was pretty much gone so I decided to just hand her the pictures and say we wanted to show you these... And best reaction goes to CARE!!πŸ’— She was so excited for us!! We were killing ourselves for not recording it! haha

On June 17th we had another appointment and got to see the baby on a little ultrasound that looked like a flip phone haha We were only 11 weeks so we couldn't hear the heart beat but we could see it! And we could see baby moving around like crazy in there! It was so crazy to see "him" move so much and yet I can't feel a thing! But man that was the best thing to see our baby doing gymnastics in there! Or Zumba 😜

And I say "him" because I just randomly told Kameron the day we found out "I think it's a boy"... don't ask me why, I have no idea, I just felt like it was a boy haha
Until next time when we tell the WORLD!! πŸŽ‰

Miracles Happen!!

In both my April and May posts I said something about them being low key months.. which they kind of were, but kind of were NOT! Because I was pregnant!!

I found out I was pregnant on April 29th! Possible TMI but my cycles go anywhere from 25-45 days so there was a LONG gap I waited from when I should have started because it could have been anywhere from the 25th-45th day! But finally the 45th day came! 😜 Just kidding it was actually a day or two before the 45th day, but I was going to go to the chiropractor that day and figured if I was pregnant I better know so I could tell him that before he worked on me! So that morning while Kameron was getting ready for work I sneakily took the "dreaded" test! Yes dreaded because all I had ever gotten off those stupid things was 1 line! And had taken so many of them I despised taking them, but I took it and about died when I saw 2 SOLID, DARK LINES!!! I could NOT believe it! I had never seen 2 lines before and had wanted to for so long!! And it was even the cheap 88 cent test! 😜 I didn't want to waste a good one, because honestly I did not have high hopes that this would be an easy thing, or happen naturally for that matter! But it did!! And with one fallopian tube to boot! (TMI? Maybe I should have put a "discretion advised" in the beginning of this post 😜) Miracle's happen! And I am so blessed and thankful for this miracle!

Anyways, back to my post, so I took the test, GOT A POSITIVE, freaked out in the bathroom (quietly), composed myself, and went out and sent Kameron off to work 😊 Haha some of you may be confused by this and I was torn as well because I SOOO wanted to burst out screaming and tell him and share my excitement, but I had had a plan since January, and wanted to stick to it! So after he left for work I went about my day, went to the chiropractor, called my OB, scouted out my reveal plan to make sure it would go as planned and then waited for 7 to roll around!
Snapchat had the perfect filter!
I picked Kameron up from work and told him we were going on a date! We went to dinner and then I took him to the mall and we walked through until we got to the photo booth I had scouted out! We got in and after the first picture I pulled out a onsie that said "Daddy's little sidekick" and showed it to him. It was the best! Apparently the photo booth also takes a video for a few extra dollars, so I got that so we could re-watch the in between pictures and it is the best thing ever! I love it so much!!
 πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡
So kind of just a funny side note about the first picture taken in the picture booth... In the video Kameron is telling me to look at the camera and pointing to it and I look at it for a second but then look right back up to the screen, and you can totally see the nervousness in me haha but the freaking lady explaining everything was long winded! 😜 Anyways, that's why I'm not looking at the actual camera... because I'm nervous, the lady is taking forever, and I'm trying to decide when to pull the onsie out haha and then the rest of them we aren't even looking at the camera at all.. haha so whatev
First "bump" picture! I may have started a little early 😜 but I don't care!
I have never had a fortune more true or accurate!!
~5/6/19~
Despite all the weekly pictures (which I kept up for a few weeks, and have now slacked off haha) I still couldn't believe I was actually pregnant! Actually I think I didn't let myself really believe it or get my hopes too high or real excited yet! And despite being nauseous all day every day and so dang tired all the time! Haha I didn't want to be let down before I actually saw an fetus with a heart beat in there! I guess that's the nurse in me, it could be ectopic, it could be a molar pregnancy, I could miscarry, so many things could go wrong! And also I just really couldn't believe I was actually pregnant, despite like I said earlier, the nausea, tiredness, and positive pregnancy test! It's so weird but I was so scared that I was going to go to the doctor and they were going to say, I don't know what caused that test to be positive, but you aren't pregnant. So I had a hard time letting myself believe it and be happy for the longest time!

My symptoms included: nausea all day every day, tiredness like I could take 1 or 2 naps a day and still sleep at night, haha, peeing a lot, and activity intolerance like doing something simple or taking a couple flights of stairs got me all sorts of winded! haha Before I tested I did notice that I was tired, but I'm a nurse-we are tired people haha our line of work is tiring! So I didn't really think anything of it, and slight nausea, but nausea is kind of a common thing for me, so didn't think anything about that either, haha the one that I really noticed and was like man this is weird, what is going on?! Is that I was hungry ALL. THE. TIME!! Haha I seriously felt like I was an endless pit and ate so much! haha

If you can't tell I am seriously SOOOO excited for this journey!! And excited to share it as well! Most all of my next posts though are probably not going to be near as long or have near as many pictures! Haha cuz like I said, I have already slacked off on taking pictures! 😬

But here's to the next 32 weeks! 🍼
