Making The Yard Beautiful!

So I am a little OCD, and it will drive me absolutely nuts if I write a post from months ago and not date it for the time that it happened. So! This is obviously the first post that pops up on my blog but if you have followed from the beginning, you will know that the actual first post was posted on November 12th called "We Are The Kings", introducing us. But, I am back timing so I'm not bugged every time I get on my blog that I have 10 posts in November that all range from May to November Haha Does that makes sense? No? Ok... Anyways... ;)

This summer was filled with fun! Before summer was in full blown swing we got the landscaping at my house done! I can't believe that I didn't take before pictures! But it was so bad! My whole yard, front and back was just covered in weeds! And I have a big yard-front and back! So the first little while was spent picking every single weed! After we got all the weeds picked we had to grate the whole place... never again! Haha! In the front yard we decided to try our hand at seed first, but I am on such a slope that that didn't work, and all the seed ended up at the bottom of my slope :/ So sod it was...

Huge thanks to Kam's family for helping lay our sod!
The back of the yard was a whole different story! After we picked weeds, before we grated we had to pick all the freaking huge boulders out!! Pretty sure my house was built on a rock pile! And again, I didn't take before pictures :( But believe me-it was BAD! After we got all the boulders out, we grated it, which brought up more and more rocks every time we raked :/ But we finally got it good enough to seed... hydroseed that is! We weren't going to try seeding again haha cuz my back yard is sloped too.
And let's not forget getting the "flower" beds done. We also landscaped the rock beds and planted trees and plants :) So much work! And I would be ok to never landscape ourselves again! Haha

We will have a little more work come spring, but it will be so nice to have the majority of the landscaping done this coming spring and summer!
